Our Kamiya covering papers reproduce the characteristics of the rare gold leaf paper used in beating gold leaf by coating the back of the paper and producing it under high pressure. Not only do they absorb excess oil on the face, but they are also tear-resistant even when they get wet, preventing the oil from transferring to the back, resulting in long-lasting makeup. The cover is based on our special gold painting technique (katsura/irregularities) used for sake, handicrafts and sliding doors in temples and shrines, and uses a bold layout inspired by Rinpa and Ukiyo-e.
